Barack Obama - A New Beginning

Regardless of your political views, you have to admit today is the end of an era and the start of new beginning for the United States. Although I did not vote for Barack, I fully support him as our President and am enjoying the sense of hope and renewed interest in the country and its future as a whole. Today marked a historic event in our lifetimes and the history of the United States with the swearing in of our first African American President. I can’t remember the last time I could feel the sense of hope in the air from the country as a whole. It may because of where I am living, a primarily Democrat city, but I really think it goes beyond that.
I hope that the change Barack has promised the American people happens and he does not get bogged down in the politics of business as usual. Even as a Republican I feel the breath of fresh air coming from his election and hope he is able to do well by the American people.
The End of Days and the Cabbage Patch
It was the end of days or the end of the day, whichever happens at 5pm EST in the United States for most of the general workforce, except government workers, or those who work the seven to three shift, their end of day would be two hours earlier. Anyway you slice it, it was the end of something somewhere at sometime and that meant the governor needed to get out to the cabbage patch and do some weeding. The cabbage needed it as all the rain over the past few days really got the weeds growing and some stood like Jack’s beanstalk over the cabbages, those poor cabbages, if it wasn’t the weeds causing them problems it was the rabbits and other wild furry creatures that inhabited the governor’s garden. Although there was a smorgasbord of vegetables to choose from in the garden it was the cabbages that got hit the hardest when it came to the creatures of the garden looking for a quick meal or a small snack to nosh on. Snacks, what a great way to break up the day, first you have breakfast, then a snack, then lunch, then a snack, then dinner or supper, dessert, and the midnight snack. And the beauty of the snack is that it comes in many different sizes, shapes, flavors and calorie counts, which was important to the governor as he was a bit of a portly man and could stand to lose a few extra pounds, maybe if he cut out some of those snacks that would happen, but there is no stopping the governor when it comes to him and his snacks. There is also no stopping the governor when it comes to his garden either, no sir, when the garden needs tending to the governor is focused one hundred percent on being there for it, well, unless there is a nice big juicy medium rare fillet in the way, that might stop the governor. Are you beginning to see why the governor is a portly man, the snacks the steaks, the garden and don’t forget the wine, the governor does love his wine. He also enjoys whining, which is a sad thing to see in a man of such an official position at his age of sixty-five with many years of experience in the legislative arena and political scene, but whine he does and it sometimes works to his advantage as his opponents, not the rabbits and creatures in the garden, but his political opponents give in to him just to make him shut up. What a sad sight it is to see a man whine, especially while drinking wine, which he often does while performing his official duties as the head of the state of Delaware, well it is only Delaware so does it really matter if he is drinking his wine while he whines in the legislature? You, I mean you the reader, if you were the least bit creatively inclined, could almost call him a wine drinking wino who whines, that is funny, which is why I am the writer and you are merely the reader of text, albeit some very captivating text.![Reblog this post [with Zemanta]](http://img.zemanta.com/reblog_c.png?x-id=3c2d0efb-c305-4a0d-9b4c-ea4c57042a68)
